Beginning in the 1970’s, Crystal Lake experienced significant growth in the residential and business population which has grown from 14,000 in the early 70’s to over 38.000 today.

The local job market continues to expand although not as rapidly as in the 1990’s through 2006.. With this expansion, we have access to excellent educational, recreational and cultural activies. Crystal Lake has two of the best public school systems around – elementary school district 47 and high school district 155. We still have the church-affiliated grade schools of Saint Thomas and Immanuel Lutheran (the area high school is Marian Central which is in Woodstock.
