The release of two QuickBooks apps has a financial technology company in line for an innovation award.

eProdigy has been chosen as a finalist in the “Most Innovative Company” category for the Innovation Project 2016 Awards.png_banner_white(1)

Joining eProdigy in the list of finalists are Starbucks, MasterCard, SunTrust Bank and PayPal. Winners of the awards last year were Bank of America Merrill Lynch, American Express, Apple Pay and Sam’s Club.

“eProdigy is proud to be chosen as a finalist in this prestigious competition,” company CEO David Rubin said. “As a leading fintech innovator, we are constantly providing new services to the alternative finance industry through our proprietary online platforms.”

In the past year, eProdigy introduced a QuickBooks App, which allows key metrics and financial ratios to be pulled from QuickBooks records and used for loan underwriting.

“America’s small businesses run on QuickBooks,’ Rubin said. “Our QuickBooks app can harness a firm’s QuickBooks records and third-party data to provide the business owner with a funding decision often in as little as five minutes.”

The original QuickBooks App from eProdigy was launched in April 2015. A ProAdvisor version of the app, with features to aid funding decisions, was launched later in the year. The ProAdvisor version provides a referral connection for capital.

eProdigy’s executive vice president said that feature could gain QuickBooks users access to substantial dollars in a short time.

“A few weeks ago, we were connected to a business that required more than $200,000 immediately to finance an incredible new opportunity to sell to a Fortune 500 firm,” eProdigy’s Brian Stulman said. “No traditional lender would provide financing in such a shot time frame. eProdigy transformed the small-business owner’s dream into reality by providing same-day funding. Although we were introduced to the business via a referral, going forward we will see more of these business owners and their ProAdvisors connecting to eProdigy via the QuickBooks app.”
